Well, Mirkarimi told a fib about taking the best version they had and removing the reserve on the funds, and letting the subsidy pilot program run this week.
So the news isn’t good, but it’s not awful either.
June 3rd the board will now hear, all separately, the original awesome pilot program, the Mirkarimi modified awful pilot program, and this new sort of poison pill that McGoldrick is going to propose next week, that would ban the mayors MECA funds (where the subsidy is funded from) being used as rebates.
We’re in yet another holding pattern…. I am optimistic though, the full board is way more receptive to this than the budget and finance committee (where it was).
